School Platform

Full-stack operations platform for 400+ students and staff at a technical school in Venezuela.

The school was running on spreadsheets and manual handoffs. Staff needed one place to manage access, see what was happening, and stop re-entering the same data in three tools.

Context

I was the sole engineer at Escuela Técnica Industrial Mariano Fernández Fortique in Cagua, Venezuela (Jan–Apr 2025). The school needed a single system for students and staff — not another spreadsheet chain.

What I shipped

  • Authentication and roles — Students, teachers, and admins saw only what they were allowed to use.
  • Operational dashboards — API-backed views so staff could track what mattered day to day.
  • Deployment under constraints — Owned architecture, frontend, backend, and production setup on a fixed timeline and budget.

Constraints that shaped the work

  • 400+ real users — Errors showed up immediately; reliability mattered more than feature count.
  • Messy requirements — Priorities shifted; I scoped in slices and shipped what unblocked people first.
  • No luxury stack — Practical choices over novelty; software people could use every week.

Outcome

Replaced manual workflows with centralized digital access. The platform became the default way staff and students reached school operations online.
